Kensington Palace, the acting royal residence and home of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London, has been closed after heavy warning.

The warning was issued at the weekend by historic royal palaces.

The historic royal palaces took to X’s former Twitter handle and confirmed: “Due to Storm Bert there are a number of closures across our sites on Sunday 24th November. Kensington Palace is closed today – please see our website for more about the gardens at Hampton Court Palace and Hillsborough Castle.”

Meanwhile, according to AFP, strong winds and heavy rain from Storm Bert hit large parts of Britain again on Sunday, causing “devastating” flooding, particularly in Wales, with around 100 flood warnings in place across the country.

In Rhondda Cynon Taf county in south Wales, 200 to 300 homes and buildings were flooded, a local councilor said, prompting authorities to declare a “major incident” in the area.

Storm Bert began battering Britain and Ireland overnight from Saturday to Sunday, with high winds, heavy rain and snow disrupting transport links and leaving thousands of properties without power.

About 100 flood warnings were still in place on Sunday in England, Scotland and Wales, with road closures and train cancellations.

Around 80 properties in England have been flooded, according to the Environment Agency.
