Jodie Turner-Smith revives Burberry Blue at The Agency Premiere

Jodie Turner-Smith wore Burberry to 'The Agency' premiere in New York

Joining Katherine Waterston at the New York premiere of ‘The Agency’ held at the Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, Jodie Turner-Smith brought Burberry blue back into the spotlight with authority.

If you cast your mind back to the 2023 Met Gala, you’ll remember Daniel Lee’s Burberry debut, where eight celebrities were dressed in the house’s signature shade of ‘Knight Blue’. From that point on, it seemed inevitable that this shade would dominate the red carpet. Yet it quietly disappeared – until now.

Jodie revived the color’s potential with a tailored dress made of tactile devoré chiffon embellished with delicate floral bouquets. And let’s be honest—it’s a much stronger show than Mary J. Blige’s look from the same Met Gala. The particular dress felt contrived, over thought and unflattering.

Jodie’s dress, on the other hand, was extremely effortless. She simply let the look flow, and the absence of bare illusion elements was another win – this look felt intentional and elegant without devolving into gimmickry.

The styling was just as perfect. Her quartet of bantu knots added an edge without taking away from the gown’s romantic softness, and her choice of David Webb jewels complemented rather than overwhelmed as Jodie continued to take the less-is-more approach to styling.

Burberry blue is officially back.
