Netflix releases trailer for Prince Harry’s ‘POLO’ docuseries (Exclusive)

The first look at Prince Harry’s latest Netflix docuseries is here — and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the trailer.

On December 10, the streaming service will be released POLOproduced by Archewell Productions, the production company Prince Harry shares with wife Meghan Markle, and Boardwalk Pictures. Both Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, served as executive producers on the project.

The five-episode docu-series takes a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of polo, following elite global players as they compete in the US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida.

“This series gives audiences an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the passion and determination that drives some of the world’s elite polo players, revealing the grit behind the glamour,” Prince Harry said of the series. “We pride ourselves on showcasing the true depth and spirit of the sport – and the intensity of its high-stakes moments.”

The show’s trailer says of playing the sport: “Imagine riding a horse at 55 miles an hour while someone comes at full speed.” A voiceover adds: “It’s the adrenaline that goes through your body – it’s addictive.”

“Polo is not just a sport,” says a voiceover from the trailer. “Polo is a way of life. We eat, we breathe, we sleep polo.”

The trailer shows the professional and personal lives of the show’s featured athletes, as polo is called “also a sexy sport — dirty, sweaty boys riding.”

As the trailer ends, the words “For legacy. For courage. For glory” appear on the screen.

Athletes featured in the show include Nacho Figueras, a long-time friend of Prince Harry and a frequent polo player with the Duke of Sussex. The renowned polo player from Argentina is included POLO as an expert and is a consulting producer on the show.

“Prince Harry and I have been talking about polo for years. The production company is incredible and Netflix has a huge platform to reach the biggest hearts in the world. I’m delighted to be involved and think it’s a great opportunity for the sport,” Figueras told PEOPLE exclusively in April about the show.
