COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – We’ll see some showers for your Tuesday morning, then we’ll have another round of rain and thunder for Thanksgiving.

Overview of first warning

Tonight we are a little milder with temperatures in the mid 50s and partly cloudy skies. During the early morning hours we see a 20% chance of a single shower or two.

Tuesday will see highs in the low 70s with a 40% chance of rain, primarily in the morning around 10am. 7 for the Columbia area. The front bringing the rain is pushing south and is quite weak.

High pressure builds into the region on Wednesday and it clears us up and gives us some sunshine. Expect highs in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies.

A strong cold front is approaching Thanksgiving. There is a 70% chance of rain and even some thunderstorms during the day. About 0.25 to 0.75″ is possible when the front passes through. Temperatures are in the low 70s for the afternoon.

After the frontal passes, we see upper 50s for Friday and lows dropping into the low 30s for Saturday morning. Hard frost for the weekend is likely. Saluda, Aiken, Orangeburg, Calhoun and Clarendon counties have yet to see a killing freeze, so they will likely have advisories or warnings this weekend.

Tuesday: Scattered showers through lunchtime. Chance of rain 40%. Temperatures close to 70 degrees.

Wednesday: Increasing clouds during the day. Highlights of the mid-60s.

Thanksgiving Day: Rounds with rain, also a chance of thunder. Chance of rain 70%. Elevations around 70 degrees.

Friday: Mostly sunny skies. Cooler, with highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Morning low near 31, then low 50s for highs with partly cloudy skies.
