Baker Mayfield is suing father’s company for $12 million

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife filed a lawsuit Nov. 22 in a district court in Austin, Texas, claiming his father’s company stole $12 million.

According to the lawsuit, more than $12 million was taken from Baker and Emily Mayfield from 2018 to 2021.

According to KOCO.com:

The lawsuit says a collection of interconnected entities with common ownership transferred more than $12 million from Mayfield to themselves without authorization, proper documentation or adequate accounting of the transactions. The defendants then allegedly used the money as they wished, “including to fund acquisitions or to cover general operating expenses (such as meeting payroll obligations),” according to the lawsuit.

No word on whether Baker Mayfield’s “money party” during the Bucs’ win over the Giants on Sunday was directed at his father and company rather than New York QB Tommy DeVito.
