Cold blast nears freezing to Middle Tennessee

FOX 17 News is in a Code Red Weather Alert for our first blast of prolonged cold morning temperatures of the season.

The low morning temperatures will be near freezing on Saturday and Sunday. Friday will be windy, but we can expect the wind to gradually decrease in the late afternoon into the evening.

Meteorologist Greg Bobos says the next four nights will drop well into the 30s overnight with many areas waking up in the 20s Friday and Saturday morning.

This marks the coldest air to track into the Midstate since mid-October, and it could potentially mark Nashville’s first freeze of the season.

Our average first freeze is November 1st and the latest recorded is November 27th.
