UNC men’s basketball in 2024 Maui Invitational: How to watch, cord-cutting options and tip-off times

The Tar Heels return to the Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center in Hawaii this week. Carolina has appeared in the tournament eight previous times and won it four times, most recently in the 2016-17 season.

If you are not going on the trip to the islands with the team, you can follow along at home:

Broadcast schedule

Those hoping to listen on the radio can do so on 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, or by streaming the radio broadcast at chapelboro.com.

97.9 The Hill’s radio broadcast of Tuesday’s semifinal game against Auburn begins at 10 p.m. ET with Tar Heel Sports Network’s pregame coverage until tip-off. They will also have postgame coverage for about an hour after the game ends.

For preseason, regular season and ACC tournament game broadcasts, you can access the stream (computer, tablet or phone) through chapelboro.com, TuneIN or most streaming apps, but you must be within 75 miles of Chapel Hill and have your location services for your device turned on. If you live more than 75 miles outside of Chapel Hill, you can access the Tar Heel Sports Network game broadcast stream through the Varsity Network.

TV schedule

Television coverage of Tuesday’s game begins with tip-off at 11:00 PM Eastern Time. The match will be broadcast on ESPN. As of today, Spectrum, AT&T, Dish Network, Xfinity and DirecTV all have ESPN.

What if I don’t have cable?

A live stream will be available through the ESPN app or on ESPN.com. You must enter TV provider information to access this stream.

Plus, ESPN has several cord-cutting options.

YouTube TV costs $73/month and carries the entire ESPN family of channels.

Hulu TV starts at $82/month and includes ESPN, but does not have MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.

Sling TV is the cheapest at $40/month for the Orange package. Be sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not include ESPN.
