Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies: Game Preview, Prediction, Time, TV Channel

The Portland Trail Blazers were embarrassed the last time they played the Memphis Grizzlies, Monday night’s opponent.

The Blazers shot 4 of 42 from three-point range and committed 24 turnovers during a 134-89 loss at home on Nov. 10.

The loss served as a wake-up call for the Blazers. They have since won four of six games, including two wins over Minnesota and one Saturday at Houston.

Suddenly, the Blazers (7-10) don’t appear to be a team in pursuit of Duke freshman Cooper Flagg, the projected top pick in the 2025 NBA draft.

They are 13th in the Western Conference, but just two games out of 10th, the final play-in spot. In the NBA’s league standings, the Blazers are 22nd.

There is, of course, a lot of basketball left to play, starting with a rematch against the Grizzlies.

They have won three out of four and could get star guard Ja Morant back. He is listed as questionable. Morant and guard Desmond Bane missed the blowout of Portland, which was scary though.

Bane has since returned and is playing well. Adding Morant would make this an even more difficult task for the Blazers.

Both teams will be missing their rookie centers. Donovan Clingan is out for the Blazers with a sprained knee and Memphis’ Zach Edey has a sprained left ankle.

Forecast: Anfernee Simons is clicking again for the Blazers. He, Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant combined for 71 points Saturday at the Rockets.

But the Blazers will be without Clingan, their best interior defender. Expect Memphis to take advantage and win.

Grizzlies: Yes Morant (right hip and pelvic muscles) is questionable. Zach Edey (left ankle sprain), GG Jackson (right fifth metatarsal repair) and Vince Williams Jr. (right ankle sprain) is out.
