Joel Hofer starts vs. Rangers in Jim Montgomery’s Blues coaching debut

NEW YORK – Joel Hofer will start for just the second time in the last nine games when he takes on the Rangers on Monday night in the Blues’ coaching debut for Jim Montgomery.

Hofer last started Nov. 17 at Carolina in a 4-1 Blues loss and hasn’t won since Oct. 19 against the Hurricanes at the Enterprise Center. On the season, Hofer has a .893 save percentage and 3.45 goals against average.

New Blues coach Jim Montgomery made some changes to the forward lines on Monday morning that left Mathieu Joseph and Alexandre Texier as the healthy claws up front. In defense, the pairings remained the same.
