Nov. 25 (UPI) — On Monday, Microsoft 365 users experienced ongoing software delays and a massive rolling crash for hours on their Outlook and Teams applications.

“We have taken additional actions and are seeing some improvement,” officials said submitted in a social media update shortly after 3:30 p.m. local time.

Microsoft said details can be found in the admin center under “MO941162.”

“We continue to monitor the service while we complete other work streams intended to fully resolve the issue,” it read in part.

According to the outage tracking page Down detectorfrom As of 12 a.m. ET Monday, more than 5,000 user-reported issues were seen, though the data does not fully reflect the extent of the outage.

But in an afternoon update around As of 2 p.m., Microsoft stated that it was still facing delays in its efforts to fix the bugs after 1 p.m. update claimed “about 98% of affected environments” were fixed, although it was inconsistent with Downdetector.

This summer saw what Microsoft described as probably the largest global IT outage — at one point affecting 8.5 million devices running a Windows operating system — affecting airports and canceling hundreds of flights, operations at 911 call centers and other critical US infrastructure affected in what was a slow recovery.

In the early hours of Monday, Microsoft said it began implementing a fix “which is currently evolving through the affected environment,” adding that as it progressed, Microsoft “initiated manual reboots on a subset of machines that are in an unhealthy state.”

There was an increase in reports of problems shortly before 1 p.m

“It’s almost 2:00 PM EST. I still can’t access Outlook,” one user wrote in a Microsoft 365 comments section.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Outlook and Teams are widely used by global businesses and organizations.

“We understand the significant impact of this event on your businesses and are working to provide relief as quickly as possible,” the software company wrote.
