Fleet Farm employee, 17, assaulted at gunpoint in Carver, Minn.

A 17-year-old Fleet Farm employee was assaulted with a weapon in Carver Sunday afternoon, authorities say.

What we know

According to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, a teenage girl employee at Carver Fleet Farm just after 1 p.m. 14.00 assaulted with a weapon by a man.

A news release says authorities responded to Fleet Farm on a report that the employee “suffered an apparent stab wound to the neck.”

The employee was taken to the hospital without serious injuries, according to the police. In a news release Monday, authorities said she was last reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.

The suspect, a 31-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, fled the store but was later arrested. He was booked into the Carver County Jail.

There is no known connection between the suspect and the victim, and authorities note there is no ongoing risk to the public.

It is not known at this time what led to the assault.

Authorities did not elaborate on what kind of weapon was used in the attack.
