IPL Auction 2025 Live Updates: Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur remain unsold

IPL Auction 2025 Live: After shocking retention activity, it is clear that Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Jos Buttlers and others will remain on 10 team’s wish list and are likely to spend their entire expenses in their kitty. Be it for captains, wicketkeepers or bowlers, the mega auction scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST today in Jeddah, will see huge bidding wars as 10 bigwigs will see their fate sealed when they go under the hammer.

Rishabh pants
Having captained Delhi Capitals earlier, he has over 3,000 runs in 111 IPL matches with a strike rate close to 150. It won’t be surprising if the 27-year-old breaks all auction records and goes for the highest ever price.

KL Rahul
The 32-year-old has over 4,600 runs in 132 IPL matches. Teams will likely bid aggressively to acquire his services for the 2025 season.

Jos Buttler
England’s white-ball captain and arguably one of the best limited over batters of the era, the 34-year-old will be a target for several teams and could start a bidding war during the auction.

Shreyas Iyer
A middle-order batter who can take on the spinners at will, he has 3,127 runs in 116 IPL matches. His experience is likely to fetch him a large amount at the auction table.

Mohammed Shami
The ace Indian pacer could be in demand during the auction. He can be lethal with the new ball and has the ability to put early pressure on the batsmen. He was the purple cap winner in the 2023 season while playing for Gujarat Titans.

Jake Fraser-McGurk
The young Australian batter was explosive at the top of the order. He struck out with a 230 strikeout rate last season and will likely be one of the hottest properties at the auction. The 22-year-old has the ability to dominate the powerplay and sometimes even kill the matches within the first six overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal
The teams adorning the purple cap in 2022 are likely to bid highly for the experienced spinner who can control the middle overs and swing matches in their favour.

Glenn Maxwell
Another Australian, Maxwell, is a dangerous batter when he gets going. The 36-year-old didn’t have the best of seasons in 2024, but it’s likely that teams can gamble a huge amount of money given what he can do on his day. He is batting at over 155 in the IPL and has scored more than 2,700 runs.
