AJ Brown is throwing his full support behind Saquon Barkley for the NFL’s MVP trophy

Once the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams is over, there will officially be six games left in Philly’s season. We also look forward to an opportunity to continue discussing the brilliance of AJ Brown and Saquon Barkley. They are two of the NFL’s best at their respective positions. They are also big fans of each other.

AJ Brown is a monster on the outside at wide receiver. Saquon… Well… He’s been so brilliant in his first season with the Birds that we’re running out of superlatives.

Recently, “play recognized game”, as they say. AJ threw his full support behind his new teammate despite spending time in Tennessee as Derrick Henry’s teammate when both were members of the AFC South’s Titans.

Some say the NFL’s most valuable player honor is a quarterback’s award. There is a reason for that. Regardless of the phenomenal efforts of players at other positions, it always seems to be a signal caller who takes home the MVP trophy.

If we base the honor on the second word in its title, ‘valuable,’ it would be hard to argue against Saquon’s chances of winning. However, there is a problem. A running back has not been named league MVP since 2012 (Adrian Peterson).

For 11 consecutive years, quarterbacks have been awarded the title. But if AJ Brown spoke his mind, we’d reject tradition.

“I think he’s the best in the world and I love Derrick.” Those were the words of Swole Batman ahead of Sunday Night Football. Flashed his trademark smile and gave the ultimate compliment to our guy in the No. 26 Eagles jersey.

AJ is right. Saquon and Derrick meet in Week 13 as the Philadelphia Eagles fly to Charm City to test the Baltimore Ravens in what should be a great viewing experience.

But first things first. Philly to take care of business in LA vs. Rams.
