IPL 2025 Key Rules

Here are some key rules for the IPL Auction 2025:
Right-to-Match (RTM) Cards: This rule allows a franchise to retain a player they released by matching the highest bid for that player at the auction. However, the team making the original bid can then counter with a higher bid. So Rishabh Pant can still come back and play for Delhi Capitals.
Marquee set: The auction begins with two marquee sets of six players each, featuring Indian and international stars. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are in the first set while KL Rahul is in the second.
Player order: After the marker sets, restricted players will be featured based on their specializations (batters, all-rounders, etc.), followed by unrestricted players.
Accelerated Auction: To streamline the process, an accelerated auction will begin after the 116th player. Franchisees will submit lists of their preferred players from the remaining pool, and those not sold or featured will be auctioned off in a second round.
