REPORT: A rough night under the lights of Las Vegas

The 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix failed to deliver any points for the team on Saturday night after Alex Albon was forced to retire with a radiator problem, while Franco Colapinto battled hard for a P14 finish.

The Argentine’s performance – after he started from the pit lane following changes to his car’s set-up during the post-qualifying rebuild – reflected the strength of the FW46, but unfortunately points proved to be a bridge too far.

Alex was showing a very strong pace and was in the top ten when he suffered a problem with the power supply, believed to be caused by a piece of plastic caught in his radiator.

It was a desperately unfortunate end to what had been a superb recovery run after the Thai driver qualified in P18 on Friday night.

Focus will now turn to Qatar and the start of an all-Middle Eastern double header, to end the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship, and the team will work extra hard to secure points to see out the season.
