Another West Kelowna Warriors player is headed to the OHL

For the second time in a week, a West Kelowna Warrior has left the team to head to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

After Jack Pridham departed for the Kitchener Rangers on November 11, Callum Hughes has followed in his footsteps as he leaves the Warriors to join the Erie Otters.

Hughes scored 32 goals and added 24 assists for a total of 56 points in 74 games for the Warriors.

The Westwood, MA native is committed to Boston University for the 2025-26 season.

Pridham, Hughes and many other BCHL players have left the league after the NCAA lifted its restriction on Canadian Hockey League (CHL) players earlier this month. This gives young players more opportunities to explore scholarships and schooling outside of Canada. For both Pridham and Hughes, who have already committed to US schools, this now gives them the chance to play in the CHL (either WHL, OHL or QMJHL) before going to post-secondary school, something that was not available prior to this rule change.
