Horry County School Board meets with company in search of new superintendent

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) — The Horry County School Board met Thursday with the search firm to help find a new superintendent for the district.

While no announcement will be made at Thursday’s meeting, a tentative timeline is in place for when more information can be expected. The board will hold two rounds of interviews – first on 2 December and then on 11 December.

The next Horry County superintendent could be in place by February

After that, the election will be announced on December 19. The new superintendent would then start between February and July.

The new superintendent would replace Dr. Rick Maxey, who in April announced his plans to retire. Eddie Ingram took over as interim superintendent in July.
