A ridiculous buzzer beater, double OT and all played in a ballroom – St. John’s/Baylor was the perfect celebration week College Hoops game

That’s exactly why you see these MTEs, Feast Week, whatever you want to call it. Baylor down 18 at one point looked like they were going to win it in OT at any point before St. John’s came back and then the buzzer beater. Correction, a buzzer beater after a missed free kick. There was a chance to seal it or at least not lose, and then it happened.

All I know is that it was a perfect game in November. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of silly moments and acting. But this match was in a ballroom in the Bahamas. What do you expect? That’s why these games are great. Two ranked teams playing in a ballroom is part of the college basketball experience. Not to mention you have VJ Edgecombe, the future top-10 pick playing at home in the Bahamas. He had a chance to win the game and missed at the buzzer. I know he doesn’t care, it’s a win and they play Tennessee/Virginia tomorrow. I say we make these two teams run back. These are two fun teams, that’s what we want to see.

Poor Rick Pitino man. That guy just wanted a win, grab a drink at his post-match press conference and move on to tomorrow. Now he has to take care of this. He’ll still bring a drink to the post-match press conference, he’s in the Bahamas. All I know is that the game was great. And yes, this game matters. It’s the games you win and come March you’ll have it on your resume, simple as that. Give us more ballroom games.
