Jameis Winston delivers all-time interview before Browns ‘TNF’ game

Jameis Winston was really ready to play football on Thursday.

In fact, he could have been ready for “battle”.

Whatever the case, the Browns quarterback was excited to take on the Steelers, and he made that clear in an exclusive interview with Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung on the field before the action.

When asked what it would take to beat the rival Steelers, who are 8-2, Winston was ready to go with his answer.

“The horse prepares for battle, but the victory comes from the Lord. So I depend on the Lord,” he said.

When asked in a follow-up if that was the message to the team, Winston replied, “Day by day, one game at a time, that’s the message.”

But when asked how he would be affected by playing in winter-like conditions with howling winds, light snowfall and temperatures that dropped near freezing, Winston grinned widely before giving his enthusiastic response.

“I’m so happy and thankful that the Lord has blessed me to play in some snow,” the quarterback said. “To be in real football weather in Cleveland, Ohio at Huntington Bank Field today – to give him credit. It’s a beautiful day.”

The game was something of a story for Winston, who has never played in a game that was 40 degrees or colder at kickoff, according to the NFL Network.

But now he’s going to go from a domed environment to snowy Cleveland.
