Michigan football returns 5-star mega QB prospect Bryce Underwood from LSU

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan football has flipped five-star mega quarterback prospect Bryce Underwood from his LSU commitment.

Underwood confirmed the engagement on her Instagram page. It has been hinted over the past month that Michigan renewed its push for the star QB with a massive NIL deal.

Underwood is the consensus no. 1 recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. He had been committed to LSU since Jan. 6, 2024. Now, he becomes the first overall recruit to commit to Michigan since Rashan Gary in the 2016 class.

The Wolverines desperately needed to land Underwood after a rough season at the quarterback position. Davis Warren, Alex Orji and Jack Tuttle have rotated at the position, but nothing has worked for the Michigan offense.

Michigan is 5-5 after going 15-0 and winning the 2023 national championship, but this is a good start to getting the train back on track.

Underwood is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. He led Belleville to a 10-2 record this season with 2,095 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 489 yards and a score.
