Michigan turns over No. 1 prospect Bryce Underwood of LSU

Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwoodthe country’s no. 1 overall prospect, has flipped his commitment from LSU to Michiganaccording to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Committed to the Tigers since Jan. 6, Underwood is now set to stay home and play for the Wolverines after an intense push from Sherrone Moore and Co. On Wednesday, Michigan turned Underwood’s high school teammate, the four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson.

Rumors began swirling in October that UM was making a real push to flip Underwood, with talks centered around a huge NIL package. Talks began to intensify, and the elite 6-foot-4, 214-pounder has now shaken up the recruiting world by joining the fold in Ann Arbor.

“Industry sources told On3 that Underwood is expected to land a NIL package worth more than $5 million over three to four years, regardless of the program that lands his signature on National Signing Day,” On3’s Pete Nakos wrote on October 29th.

Underwood now headlines Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, which has all the momentum heading into the December signing period.
