The Pulse of Today, The Insight for Tomorrow

Cooler air will continue to filter into the Houston area this week

Cooler air will continue to filter into the Houston area this week

HOUSTON – Houston, I can only say that it feels really nice outside.

After yesterday’s rain and cool front, the temperatures have dropped a bit and the humidity has dropped drastically.

There is actually another, stronger cold front that will come through tonight and drop temperatures even more for tomorrow.

Our highs tomorrow will top out in the upper 60s and lows will be in the low 50s.

Morning low temperatures will continue to drop as southeast Texas gets a glimpse of a dip in the jet stream that will allow colder air to filter into the southeastern United States.

Jetstream dip and cooler air

While the coldest air will be away to the east, the dip in the jet will be enough to push our morning lows into the low and mid 40s for the latter half of this week.

Thursday morning, Houston has an expected low of 44 degrees, the coldest low in eight months.

The last time we had a low temperature in the mid 40s was March 19th when our low temperature hit 43 degrees.

Enjoy the cool temperatures for a few days. Temperatures look set to rise next week with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.
