Cypress Mountain opens for skiing on Friday

Cypress Mountain Ski Area on the North Shore of Vancouver opens for skiing on Friday.

In a release on Tuesday night, the ski resort announced that the 2024/2025 winter season would start on November 22.

Nearby Grouse Mountain has not announced an opening date, but the annual Peak of Christmas event begins Friday.

Mount Seymour Ski Area has also not yet announced an opening date.

All three ski areas have received snow over the past few days.

Whistler Blackcomb has received over 100cm of snow in the past week and will open on Thursday 21st November.

Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna has a 76cm base of snow and will open on Friday.

Whitewater Ski Resort near Nelson opens on December 6.
