Live Discussion: Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets, 7:30 PM ET

Two losses against Knicks helped the tank, but hurt the stock of their picks from the rival across the river. Not to mention, one of those two losses was an NBA Cup game. With that, they advance to Charlotte tonight and look to end the skid and win its first NBA Cup game.

At this rate, NBA Cup games feel a little more important to a fun-but-thinking team like the Nets. Do what you want…

Damage report

Bojan Bogdanovic (left foot injury recovery), Day’Ron Sharpe (left hamstring), Jaylen Martin (G-League), Jacky Cui (G-League), Dariq Whitehead (G-League assignment) and Nic Claxton (lower back) will all be out to Brooklyn. Yesterday marked six weeks since the Nets told the media that Sharpe would be re-evaluated in six weeks. He is missed.

For the Hornets, Tre Mann is questionable due to lower back issues. Mark Williams remains out with a foot injury along with Nick Richards (ribs) and DeQuan Jeffries (hand.)

The game

Aside from having Brooklyn veteran Taj Gibson as the team’s big brother, Charlotte (5-8) is a young team trying to find its way, just like Brooklyn. With Lamelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Josh Green, Miles Bridges and rookie Tidjane Salaun, the Hornets are rebuilding. Because of their youth, they’re just trying to have fun, as you can tell by how Tre Mann wears his outfits like it’s 2003 again.
