Billie Eilish gets her first career top 10 hit on one of Billboard’s charts

Billie Eilish has produced more hit singles than a quick look at her album discography would suggest. The young singer-songwriter has only released three full-lengths, yet she has racked up quite a few smashes on a number of charts, especially in her native USA. Despite her incredible success, she still has feats to complete and lists to conquer, and she’s not done with the firsts yet, even after so many victories.

“Birds of a Feather”, Eilish’s current single, takes her to a height unknown to her on a Billboard location. The melody flies to no. 9 on the Adult Contemporary chart, finally reaching the highest level on the chart of the most successful tracks on radio stations across the country that focus specifically on the pop subgenre.

Incredibly, “Birds of a Feather” marks Eilish’s first top 10 hit on the Adult Contemporary chart. Although she may be one of the hottest stars and most commercially successful musicians in today’s global industry, she has apparently never been a favorite among DJs and programmers in the AC space.

Before “Birds of a Feather,” the singer’s highest-charting hit on the Adult Contemporary chart was “What Was I Made For?”, her single from Barbie movie soundtrack. That tune climbed to no. 15 earlier this year, despite not reaching the record until September 2023, not long before it won an Academy Award.

Eilish has only placed four numbers on the Adult Contemporary chart so far. In addition to both “Birds of a Feather” and “What Was I Made For?” she also appeared on the radio chart with “Therefore I Am” (No. 18) and “Everything I Wanted” (No. 23).

“Birds of a Feather” reaches the top 10 in its tenth week on the Adult Contemporary chart, which is quite a coincidence. The single is flapping its wings and improving from no. 11 to no. 9. It is the only new entrant in the highest region this time.

Breaking into the top 10 on the Adult Contemporary chart, Eilish’s single remains in the same tier on 11 different Billboard lists. Unbelievably, it ranks beautifully as no. 1 on half a dozen of them, including the other two pop radio, Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts.
