Threat of heavy rain Monday evening

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A risk of flooding will develop overnight tonight as a front interacts with Sara’s tropical moisture.

All day today the weather will remain calm. It will be warm and breezy as highs jump back into the 80s. Later in the evening, around your drive home time, rain chances begin to increase. Late in the evening, several storms with heavy rain are expected to train over the area.

The biggest threat for flooding will come overnight tonight, which could be quite dangerous. If you’re going to travel overnight, keep an eye on the weather!

This messy weather will quickly end Tuesday morning with the sun expected to return Tuesday afternoon. That’s just the first front this week.

A secondary front sweeps through Wednesday, ushering us into the coolest weather of the fall. Highs will fall all the way back into the 60s and lows will be in the 30s and 40s.
