Stephen Curry injury status and update ahead of Clippers vs Warriors

The LA Clippers will play the second game of a four-game homestand on Monday night when the Golden State Warriors come to town. Last time out, the Clippers snapped their second three-game losing streak of the season when they beat the Utah Jazz at the Intuit Dome on Sunday night.

Getting ready for the Western Conference-leading Warriors just 24 hours later is no small task. Golden State has completely dominated to start this season, jumping out to a 10-2 record and making it look like Stephen Curry’s days of winning championships might not be over just yet.

The first of the Warriors’ two losses so far in the 2024-25 season? To the Clippers back on October 27th and still Golden State’s only home loss at the Chase Center this year. While it’s nice that the Clippers can have the confidence going into this game knowing that they can beat this team for a fact, they should also know that doing so will be far from easy twice.

Of course, one of the biggest deciding factors in this one will be Stephen Curry’s availability. The Warriors’ point guard is currently listed as questionable for Monday night’s action due to left knee bursitis. Curry was present at the shooting Monday morning, setting up shots and walking up the steep steps of The Wall at the Intuit Dome.

Having Steph in the starting lineup will undoubtedly be Golden State’s best chance to win, but it’s worth noting that the Warriors went 3-0 in the only three-game stretch Curry has missed so far this season. This is a formidable team with or without the best shooter ever on the floor.

Again, Kawhi Leonard (knee) will be out for the Clippers on Monday. He reportedly still hasn’t practiced with the team this season, and there have been no further updates on when he can return to action.

PJ Tucker (not with the team) is also out against the Warriors. Tucker remains out indefinitely while he and the team have mutually agreed to find him a trade partner so he can play elsewhere this season.

Mo Bamba (knee) is questionable for Monday after making his season debut against the Jazz on Sunday. Bamba recorded nine points and eight rebounds in 15 minutes of action against Utah, and may now end up sitting out the second night of a back-to-back.

De’Anthony Melton (ACL), Kevon Looney (illness) and Reece Beekman (G League assignment) are all out for the Warriors.

Curry (knee) and Lindy Waters III (knee) are both questionable to play on Monday.
