A piece of metal falls from the roof of AT&T Stadium

A large piece of metal fell from the roof of AT&T Stadium Monday night while crews were opening the stadium’s roof. No one was injured.

ARLINGTON, Texas – A piece of metal fell from the roof of AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Monday prior to the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans.

The large piece of metal fell shortly after the stadium opened its roof.

No one was hit by the metal, but it fell near several production workers.

FOX 4’s Jeff Kolb spotted what appeared to be another loose piece of metal in the roof area.

The Cowboys have not played an open-top home game since October 2022.

The roof at AT&T Stadium was closed shortly after.

Tailgating fans focus on fun rather than Cowboys record

The focus for fans after Monday night’s game was less on the Cowboys’ record and more on just enjoying the football atmosphere.

“We can confirm that a piece of metal came loose and fell to the ground (with some additional debris) while the roof was in the process of opening. There were no injuries. It is being investigated further and a decision regarding the possibility of to reopen the roof safely when possible,” a Cowboys spokesman said.

The spokesman said high winds were to blame.

The Cowboys take on the Texans on Monday Night Football.

The match is scheduled to start at 19:15
