Giddey recorded his third double-double for Chicago, collecting 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with a triple, eight rebounds and 10 assists for a +13 plus/minus – the third-best of any player – in 29 minutes.

The Aussie also played solid defense on Pistons star Cade Cunningham, who still led Detroit with 23 points and 10 assists.

It was Giddey’s teammate, LaVine, who really stole the show. LaVine was blazing hot in the fourth quarter, making six 3-pointers for 18 points to lead the Bulls to the win down the stretch.

LaVine and Coby White each dropped 25 points, and Nikola Vucevic led all scorers with 29 to go with 12 rebounds and two blocks.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Chicago to improve to 6-9 on the season.

It came after a couple of rough performances for Giddey in Chicago’s blowout losses to Houston and Cleveland, with the Aussie benched for long stretches.

Giddey was brutally honest about his own performance after the Cleveland loss, admitting, “I wouldn’t have played myself if I was Billy. No minutes tonight. I was bad on both sides of the ball.”

MORE TO COME.
