Colorado avalanche

As previously mentioned, after completing a four-game homestand, Colorado embarks on a four-game road trip, making their first stop in Philadelipha. Colorado won three of the four games in this most recent homestand and lost their only game in that homestand against the Washington Capitals. In that game, Colorado got some much needed reinforcements back as Miles Wood, Jonathan Drouin and Valeri Nichushkin all returned to the lineup.

On a more negative note, however, Alexandar Georgiev did not play in that game and was placed on IR yesterday as he is now injured. The Avs recalled Kevin Mandolese to back up Justus Annunen tonight as he will most likely get the start again.

Expected lineup

Artturi Lehkonen – Nathan MacKinnon – Jonathan Drouin

Former Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson played his 1,000th NHL game against the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday, but his official celebration will be tonight against the Avalanche.

Goalkeepers

As previously mentioned, with Georgiev being placed on IR yesterday, Annunen will most likely get the start again tonight. Opposite him, Aleksei Kolosov gets the start for Philadelphia. After being pulled in favor of Trent Miner against Washington on Friday, Annunen needs a much better performance tonight to help get Colorado a win.
