Among several gems from Joe Burrows’ revealing press conference Wednesday: The The Bengalsthe quarterback said Los Angeles Chargers First-year head coach Jim Harbaugh tried to recruit Burrow when Harbaugh was the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines after Burrow had already committed to Ohio State.

Burrow talked about Harbaugh reaching out to him ahead of an NFL Week 11 Sunday Night Football game between the Bengals and Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

“He had just gotten the job at Michigan the January after that (2014) season,” Burrow explained. “I had been committed to Ohio State for five or six months at that point. So I think Coach (Harbaugh) was trying to make a big splash by trying to flip the Ohio State quarterback commit. I’m not really sure that he knew exactly who I was or what I could do at the time, I think he was just trying to make a little splash there.

During the same press conference, Burrow apologized for using the F-bomb to discuss how teammate and receiver Ja’Marr Chase expresses to Burrow that he is open.
