Angelina Jolie and son Knox steal the show at the 2024 Governors Awards Red Carpet

Angelina Jolie had the best plus one at this year’s Governors Awards.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted its 15th annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, and the A-List star arrived arm-in-arm with her son, Knox Jolie-Pitt.

The 16-year-old turned heads alongside his famous mum when he was almost her height and debuted a buzzed hairstyle. For the Governors Awards, Knox leaned on sophistication wearing a tuxedo with a pair of round toe patent leather shoes. The tux that only added to how different he looked from the last time he walked the red carpet with his mother three years ago.

Jolie wore a stunning empire waist vintage gold and cream dress with a pair of open toe sandals that were eclipsed by the long skirt. Still, the shoe peeked through the sheer layer of the dress, revealing a brown platform and her polished toes. She wore her hair in a soft half up half down look and decorated her neck with a thick diamond necklace and paired it with dangling silver earrings.

The Governors Awards is an annual event that celebrates awards presented by the Academy’s Board of Governors – the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and the Honorary Award. Recipients are announced each summer and honored at a dinner gala. Highlights from the event are incorporated into this year’s Oscars.

The last time Knox was seen at a public event was when he supported one of his mother’s films and attended the UK gala screening of Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” in London, England in October 2021 with his siblings Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, and Maddox.

Most recently, Jolie has been promoting her upcoming film “Maria,” and she attended a screening of the film in New York City with some of her children, but Knox was not in attendance. Her daughter Zahara arrived at the event wearing Tom Ford heels, while her brothers Pax and Maddox arrived in suits.

Angelina shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Knox was born in Nice, France in July 2008 with her twin, Vivienne. The former couple rose to fame together in 2004 and married in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage in 2016.
