Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars meet in a Week 11 matchup between teams headed in opposite directions.

The Lions are on a seven-game winning streak, and if they win on Sunday, they will tie a franchise record for consecutive wins in a single season. They currently hold the top seed in the NFC and are the odds-on favorite to win their second straight division title.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, are 2-8. Rumors swirling Sunday morning suggest big changes could be coming for the young franchisewith possible layoffs for the head coach and general manager on the way. It’s a shocking drop after the Jaguars made the divisional round in 2022 and followed it up with a respectable 9-8 season. Although the 2023 season was more defined by the team’s 1-5 finish to the year, and that collapse has clearly carried over into 2024.

So it’s no wonder the Lions are 13.5 point home favorites this week. But this is an “any given Sunday” league, and of the Jaguars’ eight losses, only two were by more than a single score. Last week the Jaguars went 7-2 Minnesota Vikings to the last seconds. So if Detroit isn’t careful, this could be another close matchup on Sunday.
