College football rankings: Big 12 teams in updated coaches poll, AP Top 25 after Week 12

There are only two weeks left 2024 college football regular season after another intense week in the Week 12 on Saturday.

The Big 12 Conference remains in generally good shape to send his champion to 12-team College Football Playoff. And there was perhaps no greater victory in the conference than No. 20 Colorado (8-2, 6-1 in Big 12 play)not only for Buffaloes‘ win, but also because No. 8 BYUwhich lost its first game of the 2024 season.

The Buffaloes picked up a 49-24 win at home over Utah, where Travis Hunter continued to build his robust Heisman Trophy candidacy with a strong performance: (five catches for 55 yards, a 5-yard rushing touchdown and an interception).

Conversely, the Cougars (9-1, 6-1) dropped their first game of the season by one 17-13 loss to the Jayhawks. Colorado will play Kansas in Week 13 before ending its season against Oklahoma State.

Elsewhere in Big 12 play, No. 19 Kansas State dropped its third game of the season, all against conference foes, with a 24-14 loss at visiting Arizona State. With that, the Sun Devils have all but eliminated the Wildcats from the Big 12 title game while keeping their own hopes alive.

Likewise, No. 25 Iowa State (8-2, 5-2) ended its two-game losing skid with a 34-17 victory over Cincinnati. Here’s how those games and more impacted the Week 13 US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25:
