Ole Miss heavily favored to win its last two games

This weekend, no. 11 Ole Miss feet propped up and taking things easy with its second and final bye of the season.

On Monday, the final push of the regular season begins with games in Florida and then the Egg Bowl back in Oxford to put a bow on things before the postseason.

How the postseason plays out depends on how the Rebels (8-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) finish the final two games.

Spoiler: Wins will more than likely get them where they want to be, which is the College Football Playoffs.

With a 10-2 record and wins over No. 21, South Carolina and no. 12, Georgia serve as their best wins on the resume, so wins over the Gators and Mississippi State have to happen. Any setbacks and the prospects are back to a Florida bowl game or potentially a trip to Las Vegas.

So with all that in mind, what do the oddsmakers and analysts say about the Rebels’ chances in these two games?

ESPN’s win prediction projects more lopsided wins for Ole Miss, giving it an 81.4 percent chance to beat Florida (4-5, 2-4) and a 95.3 percent chance to beat the Bulldogs (2-8, 0- 6).

The experts in Las Vegas also predict two wins for the Rebels. Going into the game against the Gators, Ole Miss is currently an 11-point favorite according to Draft Kings.

For the Egg Bowl, two early lines for the game on November 29 are already out. Caesars has Ole Miss as a 21-point favorite, and FanDuel has it as a 19.5-point advantage.

Both the Rebels and Mississippi State are off for the final time in the regular season, while Florida hosts No. 22 LSU on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT. How the result in Gainesville goes could change the spread (which is sure to change on Sunday) as well as ESPN’s win prediction.
