2024 Heisman Trophy the race heats up as the college football regular season enters its final stretch.

There are still many players vying for the sport’s most famous individual award. However, the top contenders are starting to pull away from the Heisman rankings. The latest Heisman odds confirm this sentiment.

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel are among the top picks, while others are hoping for big final games to break into the top group.

However, Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke is a threat on the outside and has a big game coming up against Ohio State. A career performance could put Rourke near the top, especially with a win that all but assured a College Football Playoff appearance for the Hoosiers.

With just three regular season games and conference championship weekend remaining, here are the latest Heisman odds and rankings in the race for college football’s top prize:

Heisman Trophy odds

According to BetMGM, the Heisman Trophy race is down to four players — Hunter, Gabriel, Jeanty and Ward — with Rourke right on the outside looking in. However, Rourke has a chance to jump into top four competition as Indiana has an upcoming matchup with Ohio State.

Here’s a breakdown of the current front-runners to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy:

1. Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter (-150)

Hunter is the current favorite to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy not only because of his status as a rare two-way player, but also because of his high production on both offense and defense.

Here are his stats for this season:

  • Crime: 69 receptions for 856 yards with nine touchdowns
  • Defense: 20 total tackles with seven pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble

2. Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel (+375)

Gabriel, a sixth-year senior quarterback in his first season at Oregon, is the most experienced signal caller in college football as he ranks second in all-time passing touchdowns (147) and passing yards (17,713) in FBS history.

Here are his stats for this season:

  • Passed: 237 of 320 passing (74.1%) for 2,848 yards with 22 touchdowns to five interceptions
  • Urgent: 43 rushes for 148 yards with six touchdowns

3. Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty (+450)

Jeanty, the nation’s leader in rushing yards (1,734), has been a sensation this season and has Boise State on the brink of a spot in the College Football Playoff. The junior is expected to be among the top players selected in the 2025 NFL draft.

Here are his stats for this season:

  • Urgent: 224 carries for 1,734 yards with 23 touchdowns
  • Recipient: 16 receptions for 93 yards with a touchdown

4. Miami QB Cam Ward (+850)

Ward has seen his Heisman status decline in recent weeks as he was once considered the favorite for the award. The first-year transfer from Washington State could very well be the first quarterback selected in the upcoming NFL draft and has a great chance to lead the Hurricanes to the CFP this season.

Here are his stats for this season:

  • Passed: 241 of 361 passing (66.8%) for 3,494 yards with 32 touchdowns to six interceptions
  • Urgent: 50 rushes for 182 yards with three touchdowns

5. Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke (+1600)

Rourke, the quarterback for the most surprising team in football this season, has been one of the most efficient and effective quarterbacks in the country in 2024. Rourke is a first-year transfer from Ohio and has six years of college experience.

Here are his stats for this season:

  • Passed: 171 of 238 passing (71.8%) for 2,410 yards with 21 touchdowns to four interceptions
  • Urgent: 30 carries for 17 yards with two touchdowns
