The internet is obsessed with Ariana Grande and Jimmy Fallon’s place on the recreation of the iconic “evil” debate

The Evil hype has everyone buzzing emotions drives high – and in a new video posted by The Tonight Show, it looks like Ariana Grande and Jimmy Fallon got into a pretty heated debate.

In the TikTok caption “Ariana’s sister is a witch,” Ariana β€” who stars in the upcoming Jon M. Chu film β€” and Jimmy wildly gesture at each other in what looks like an intense argument. But they actually sync with a popular sound: one that has two people locked in a passionate discussion about the intricacies of Glinda, the good witch.

β€œHER SISTER WAS A WITCH, RIGHT? AND WHAT WAS HER SISTER? A PRINCESS,” Ariana lip syncs.

In it original videoposted in 2018 to YouTube by internet user Austin Parrish, the two people apparently argue about the validity of labeling Glinda a princess as opposed to a witch. One protests that the franchise “is (his) favorite,” before the other shoots him down immediately, no questions asked.

And Ariana and Jimmy’s TikTok didn’t lack the enthusiasm of the original in the slightest. In fact, commenters have pointed out how Ari pulled off the mannerisms and hand gestures seen in the OG video.

One user said“she’s been WAITING to recreate this,” while another said“even the head shake on (the Wicked Witch of the East Bridge) was on point.” Praise was extended to Jimmy and The Tonight Show also, with one user declaring, “give whoever thinks this was a raise,” and I couldn’t agree more.

Ariana and Jimmy’s recreation gained online attention immediately, which is no surprise given the popularity of the original video. In fact, last week there was one tweet went viral, saying, “I’m asking the @wickedmovie marketing team to invite these guys to ANY of the premiere events PLEASE.” Needless to say, fans online are happy to nod to the video.

The original video went viral years ago as viewers immediately related to the intensity of the argument over something seemingly trivial. Which, however, is completely subjective. Some of us really share that passion for Glinda the Good Witch – Ari is of course the first on the list.

Ariana, as well as all of it Evil cast member, has received attention throughout the press tour for her devotion to her character Glinda. From her matching tattoos with Cynthiaon her emotional reaction to being cast as Glinda back in 2022, that’s clear how much she loves the role. And as much as fans love to see her get in on the jokes, we may never resolve the age-old argument those guys had back in 2018.
