Mike Tyson will honor the late daughter with a special outfit during the Jake Paul Fight

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is just hours away from his fight against social media personality Jake Paul, and as the former heavyweight champion prepares for the fight, he plans to honor his daughter in a special way.

On Friday, November 15, Tyson, 58, and Paul, 27, will meet in the highly anticipated fight at Texas’ AT&T Stadium. For the big moment — and his first fight since 2020 — Tyson plans to wear black boxer shorts with the name of his late daughter, Exodus Sierra Tyson, stitched on the bottom front corner in white letters, according to USA today.

According to BYLT Basics, the company Tyson has partnered with for the fight, the trunks were designed to specifically honor Exodus’ memory, company spokesman Robert Pursell said, according to the outlet.

In May 2009, Exodus, who was 4 years old at the time, was found unconscious by her brother, Miguel, then 7, after she became entangled in a cord on a treadmill. She subsequently died from her injuries.

Five months later, in October 2009, Tyson admitted to Oprah Winfrey that he did not want to know the details of his daughter’s death.

“Because if I know, then maybe there is a fault in it. And if there’s somebody to blame for that, there’s going to be a problem,” Tyson said at the time.

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, November 13, Tyson said that Paul should prepare for what’s coming his way in the ring.

“I bring the devil himself (to the ring),” Tyson said per ESPN. “There are no feelings attached.”

Tyson continued, “My own mother has to be very careful if she’s going to be in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, otherwise he’s in trouble,” he said, according to the newspaper.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will be shown globally on Netflix on November 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
