Ariana Grande recreates ‘Wicked Witch of the East, Bro’

Ariana Grande sets the record straight with Jimmy Fallon on a very important topic: who’s a princess and who’s a witch in The Wizard of Oz.

For her Thursday, November 14 appearance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonthe Evil star, 31, recreated a viral meme referred to as the “Wicked Witch of the East, Bro.” Lip sync to original videos immortal words – “Grow up bro, grow up!” — she tutored fake-furious Fallon, 50, on Oz lore.

“You want to look at me and you want to tell me I’m wrong? Am I wrong? She wore a crown and she came down in a bubble,” Grande lip-syncs. As befits Glinda, the apparent subject of the argument and her character i Evil movie musical, “Yes, and?” the singer wore a red colored dress with frills and a royal train for her Show tonight appearance.

All Fallon can pretend to muster, as in the original video, is a weak “Get educated.”

Sitting down for her interview with Fallon, Grande discussed the “heart attack” she suffered when she was cast as Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s film adaptation of Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s hit Broadway musical, itself inspired by the 1995 Gregory McGuire novel that recreates the origins of L. Frank Baum’s Witches of Oz.

They also recapped her latest hosting gig Saturday Night Live and how she may have helped bring in cast member Bowen Yang Evil. “The scariest moment of my life,” Grande said, calling SNL creator Lorne Michaels to convince him to share Yang, 34, who plays Pfannee in the film. “He got a handle on it and flew back and forth between them SNL and filming Evil to be a part of it. And he’s incredible, and he just put himself through it to get it done.”
