Marvel Comics is introducing the new Strike Force in WEAPON X-MEN, and the lineup is seriously awesome

Marvel Comics has announced a new series, Weapon X-Menwhich will see some of the Marvel Universe’s most formidable mutants come together to take on… Doctor Doom?! You can get a sneak peek after the jump.

Next February we will meet the completely new, completely different ones Weapon X-Men. Amazing Spider-Man and Deadpool writer Joe Casey returns to the world of the X-Men, and along with artist ChrisCross, the renowned writer will introduce the toughest team of mutants ever assembled.

This deadly new team of mutant icons, including Wolverine, Deadpool and Cable, will take no prisoners as they fire weapons into every enemy stronghold to be destroyed. And with “One World Under Doom” affecting the entire Marvel Universe next year, their first stop is Latveria.

After Doctor Doom, the Weapon X-Men’s goals will be as wild as they come, including an all-new threat that will force this group of badass heroes to lock up and unleash their deadly skills like they’ve never done before.

Here’s the official description of the series from Marvel Comics, which despite the different name gives off serious X-Force vibes.

WOLVERINE! DEAD POOL! CABLE! CHAMBER! THUNDERBIRD! Together on their very own X-Team for the very first X-time – all in one X-tra-sized first issue!
