Hurts Pays Respect To Commander’s Rookie Phenom

Week 11 of the NFL season is full of marquee matchups around the league.

The biggest one will probably come on Thursday evening.

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles get their first crack at rookie phenom Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in the City of Brotherly Love with first place on the line.

While Hurts and Daniels are two completely different players in their own right, they are two quarterbacks that will be linked going forward. Hurts is only two years older than Daniels, but knows Philadelphia has tough jobs ahead in the NFC East moving forward.

“I always thought he was a great player,” Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said. “Being able to win the Heisman, and all the success he’s had — even up to this point.”

During college, Hurts was actually in his final season, while Daniels was just starting his career at Arizona State. The new Commanders quarterback ended up winning the Heisman Trophy, while the Eagles’ starter was only second in his final year of voting.

Hurts and Daniels are the young quarterbacks in the division right now. They will be tied together going forward. With the Eagles and Commanders excelling on the field to this point, it will only add further excitement to their matchups.

Daniels has recorded over 2,500 total yards with 13 total touchdowns and two interceptions through the first 10 games of the season for him. Hurts, in his own regard, has amassed just under 2,400 total yards in a smaller game with 22 total scores and five interceptions.

Hurts and Daniels meet for the first time on Thursday, and it will be just one of many that will face the two going forward.
