Netflix’s “Cobra Kai” goes global.

The second part of the final season is scheduled to drop later this week and will transport viewers and Miyagi-Do from the valley to Spain to Sekai Taikai, “where the students will face new challenges and old enemies as they fight to become world champions. ” according to Netflix. The Sekai Taikai is “the most prestigious karate tournament in the history of modern martial arts,” as Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) explains in Season 6 Episode 1.

“At Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do faces new challenges and old enemies as they battle to become world champions – can they stay united as internal rivalries bubble back to the surface?” Netflix says about the upcoming part 2.

Co-creator of “Cobra Kai”. Jon Hurwitz told Netflix’s Tudum that Part 2 picks up right where the season left off and “gets right into the action.”

“We left with the big surprise that Tory has joined Cobra Kai, so we’re in the aftermath of that, where everyone is reacting to what just happened while also trying to find their footing –– as the new kids on the block –– of this giant international tournament that’s been going on for decades,” Hurwitz said. “They have no idea what’s in store for them.”
