Ted Danson, Kristen Bell and D’Arcy Carden Reunite at ‘A Man on the Inside’ Premiere (Exclusive)

The good place may be off the air forever, but the cast still has a lot of love for each other.

At the premiere of Ted Danson’s Netflix series A man on the inside on Sunday, November 10, Kristen Bell and D’Arcy Carden showed up to support their ex Good place costar, sharing long, warm embraces.

Danson, 76, had high praise for Bell, who played deceased pharmaceutical saleswoman Eleanor Shellstrop — a role that earned her a Golden Globes nomination in 2019. She currently stars in the Netflix show Nobody wants this, which was recently renewed for a second season.

“I adore her and she adores me, but she’s also the most adorable person on the planet,” Danson tells PEOPLE. “There’s nobody who doesn’t adore Kristen Bell. Really, really.”

“Did you see her latest show?” he continues. “I have to cover my eyes and say, ‘No, no, no. Don’t fall in love with him!’ She’s great. They (Bell and Carden) both are.”

The good place ran for four seasons from 2016 to 2020, tackling topics like the afterlife and earning 14 Emmy nominations in the process, including three nods for Danson for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

IN A man on the insideDanson plays Michael, a retired gentleman who lost his wife and discovers a new hobby as a private detective assistant who infiltrates a senior community to help solve a case. Through eight episodes, the series manages to portray issues faced by seniors with wry humor and dignity.

“One of my joys, and I’ve been able to do that several times in life, is to use my age and what I’m going through in life and explore that,” the actor continues. “What’s it like to be 76 and be funny and try to be funny? How does that feel? Oh my God, (the) greatest joy is being funny in every possible way I can.”

“You can still do anything even at our age, and one of the things you have to teach them is how to die and how to live just until you do,” he adds. “Don’t quit, don’t relax, keep going.” The world needs you. So that, for me, is one of the big messages in this piece. That is something I hope for myself.”

While A man on the inside hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet, creator and executive producer Michael Schur is open to the idea of ​​casting Danson’s former co-stars like Bell and Carden or even Danson’s wife Mary Steenburgen. The pair of actors have worked together on numerous projects over the years, including the 1996 limited series Gulliver’s Travels and the 2004 TV movie It must be love.

“Should we be lucky enough to do more seasons, I think the world is our oyster,” Schur tells PEOPLE, adding, “I think I would happily cast anyone that we thought was the right person to cast , whether Ted has worked with him or not, because (at) this point he’s worked with everybody!”
