Scott Jennings pulls the cringiest stunt on CNN and people aren’t laughing

Scott Jennings tried levity on CNN‘s “NewsNight” Tuesday — but it backfired. (See the video below.)

IN his closing wordschose the news network’s prominent GOP voice to comment on reports that it elected President Donald Trump plans to install Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) as secretary of state. The move would place Rubio with other Trump loyalists in the Cabinet, such as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth of Fox News. It would also leave an opening for senator in Florida.

It is best to see without further ado:

Jennings’ playful attempt to support “real American” professional wrestling great Hulk Hogan replacing Rubio turned the GOP pundit into the news media’s version of a wrestling heel.

Jennings opened his sport coat to reveal one Hulkamania T-shirt. “What you gonna do, Chuck Schumer, when Hulkamania runs wild on you, bro?” he told the Democratic senator in New York.

Hogan ripped off his shirt in a stunt to endorse Trump at the Republican National Convention and later joked about body-slamming Kamala Harris.

Our jaw ached from gritting our teeth through Jennings’ crawling routine, and others felt the same way.

“They really think this shit is a joke,” wrote someone on X, formerly Twitter.
