Venezuela vs. Brazil live scores: World Cup qualification results, stats as Selecao seek second spot in CONMEBOL standings

Brazil will temporarily move into second place in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying standings if they defeat Venezuela in Thursday’s international.

The Selecao have recovered from a tough start to the 2026 qualification process, with four wins from their last four putting them comfortably back in the mix as they look to secure a place at the finals in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Venezuela are also very much in the hunt for a qualification spot, with the top six in the standings at the end of the qualifying phase all securing a place in the group stage for the tournament in 19 months’ time. Seventh place could also see them reach the final, although they would have to go through an intercontinental play-off in that event.
