Robbie Williams Appears As A Monkey In ‘Better Man’ Biopic Trailer

Better man looks like a traditional biopic – except for one essential thing

The first trailer for the Robbie Williams movie Better man has arrived and opens with a message from the pop legend: “This is my story. But I don’t want to tell it in an ordinary way because I can’t see myself the way others see me.”

And Williams didn’t lie about the non-ordinary part – he appears as a monkey (yes, a real monkey) in the film. The singer lends his vocals to the film and is voiced and motion-captured by actor Jonno Davies.

The trailer gives a full look at Williams as a monkey, shaking up a packed festival crowd as he cheekily remarks, “To be honest, I’ve always been a little underdeveloped. So let’s take it off the top, shall we.”

The clip then details Williams’ life and times, including his childhood, the moment he joined British pop group Take That, and the trials he faced throughout his career. “I’m going to be damn famous!” he says at one point.

At one point in the documentary he asks tiredly: “Do I look like a pop star?” His mother tells him she “wouldn’t change a hair” on his head. The moment has an added effect with Williams portrayed as a monkey.

“I want to prove that I can make it on my own,” he adds at another point in the clip.

Better man will be in selected theaters this Christmas and play nationwide on January 17, 2025.
