Deborra-Lee Furness reacts subtly to Hugh Jackman’s alleged affair with Sutton Foster

Hugh Jackman may not have been a free agent at the start of his alleged romance with Sutton Foster.

The 56-year-old was married to ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness for 27 years before the two announced they were divorcing. Rumors have swirled over the past few months that Jackman may have stepped out of his marriage to Furness, 68, with his “The Music Man” co-star, 49.

Now, the Australian actress has apparently responded to the news of the “Deadpool & Wolverine” star’s relationship with Foster.

Furness “liked” a post from her private Instagram account by gossip blogger Tasha Lustig and claimed that Jackman had “blindsided” Furness by sharing his relationship with Foster, per US Weekly on Wednesday.

The producer’s friend, British media personality Amanda de Cadenet, also weighed in on the allegations, writing in a comment last month: “You’re right on this one. My dear friend Deb is about to light her up anytime!

The Post has reached out to reps for Jackman, Furness and Foster for comment.

Meanwhile, sources claimed to the magazine on Tuesday that Jackman was having “an affair” with Foster.

“Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb split,” said the insider close to Foster.

“A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because they’re both such nice and amazing people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”

The source also claimed that Jackman and Foster are currently together, adding: “They’re really happy now.”

Furness reportedly had “suspicions” that her longtime husband was working with the actress on Broadway.

Jackman and Foster appeared together in “The Music Man”, which ran on the Great White Way from December 2021 to January 2023.

Nine months later, Jackman and Furness announced the end of their 27-year marriage.

“Deborra-Lee had her suspicions when Hugh started working with Sutton,” a source said Daily Mail earlier this month. “Their relationship is not a secret to her.”

Earlier this week Page Six reported that Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Ted Griffin, with sources saying she and Jackman are now officially an item.

“They are 100% together and in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together,” an insider said. “They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge.”

Furness, who shares adopted children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with Jackman, has yet to speak publicly about the end of her marriage to the “X-men” hunk — or rumors that he and Foster are dating.

The source told the Daily Mail that she “wants to be left out of this narrative.”

“She will not address this or speak against Hugh,” they said. “When they divorced, they agreed to keep everything that happened during their marriage private.”

“Time has passed for Hugh to grieve his divorce and now that Sutton is over her relationship, they’re getting closer to making it official,” another insider added.

“They’re not going to shove it down everyone’s throats. They became close friends as they worked together and trusted each other over their individual issues.”

The source noted that “Hugh still has huge respect for Deborra-Lee. They have children and that’s what’s important to both of them. They fix what they can and will never talk bad about each other.”

Jackman and Furness tied the knot in 1996. They released a joint statement about their separation in September 2023.

“We have been blessed to share nearly 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they shared People then.

“Our journey now changes and we have decided to part ways to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We take on this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”
