NEW Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and longer crossword puzzle. Most days there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its bigger sibling, the NYT Mini Crossword is free to play New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you must have a NYT Games subscription to access past puzzles in the archives.

NEW Mini is a fun daily distraction that usually takes no time at all. I’m trying to beat the default weekday grid in less than a minute. But sometimes I can’t quite figure out a clue or two and need to reveal the answer.

To help you avoid doing that, here’s NEW Mini Crossword answers (spoilers ahead, of course):

Kind of a tough puzzle I’d say today, SQUAD GOALS being the main attraction, which makes sense now, but it was pretty hard to figure out at the moment. I also thought YEAS was AYES and it messed things up a bit for a while. Remembering how to spell PIQUE was a bit of a tough time. The easiest clue was All’s well that ENDS well, but that was really the only gimmie.
