‘The Office’ costar says John Krasinski is overdue as Sexiest Man Alive

Kate Flannery has always thought John Krasinski’s sexiness deserved recognition.

The actress, known for playing bubbly supplier relations representative Meredith Palmer The officeresponded to her previous costar crowning PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive with a lively Wednesday sign. “It’s been so long overdue!” Flannery told TMZ. “John Krasinski, in my opinion, has been robbed every year since 2005. It’s about time.”

Flannery believes Krasinski’s appeal should be obvious to anyone who has seen him. “Have you seen him recently?” she asked. “Have you seen him since Jack Ryan? He is so upright. He is so hot that my eyes melt every time I see him in person. He and Emily (Blunt, his wife) are so gorgeous I have to squint. He’s really, really hot. Is no one paying attention? I’m so glad people are finally paying attention.”

The actress assumed that elements of Krasinski’s screen persona, which all Jim Halpert on The office has caused the public to overlook his sex appeal. “I’m not drunk, I’m telling you the truth: John has always been adorable and really sweet, but I feel like people haven’t seen his sexiness because he’s so sweet,” she said. “So it’s the perfect marriage of two things: cute and hot and sexy and funny and smart, and I mean, he’s a lot more than Jim.”

Flannery recognized Krasinski’s IT factor from their earliest days together The office. “John was always one of the kindest, funniest and smartest kids,” she recalled. “I mean when I met him The office he had done nothing. I really hadn’t done anything remarkable either. We also became famous together, and John always had that something, that special something.”

She concluded her remarks by praising Krasinski’s multifaceted skills as an entertainer. “He has so many talents,” Flannery said. “He’s a great director, he’s a great actor. He’s really funny, he’s really smart — (but) he doesn’t have to be funny. Because some people have to, and it’s exhausting. So John’s not exhausting. And yes, you see a spark in someone immediately, and John always had that.”

Flannery is not the only one Office star to respond positively to the news. Angela Kinsey, who played Angela Martin in the sitcom, shared similar sentiments in an interview with Weekly entertainment. “I’m so tickled by it. I found out this morning,” she said. “I love John. He’s such a good person and I’m so happy for all the success he’s had. But I think of him as my little brother, so it’s like your little brother is getting the sexiest man alive! You is kind of like, ‘What’s going on?’ But he’s such a sweetie.”
