How Emily Blunt reacted to John Krasinski’s Sexiest Man Alive title

It wasn’t a quiet place for John Krasinski after Emily Blunt found out he was People’s Sexiest Man Alive.

The “Office” alum, 45, teased that his wife was “very excited” about the news and she won’t be letting it go anytime soon.

“I think that will get me through it more domestic duties,” Krasinski shared People in its cover story. “When this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘Okay, that means you really want to earn this at home.'”

Blunt, 41, also had a home decor update in mind: planning to wallpaper their home with her new cover photo.

“Do we have it on camera? Because it’s like a binding contract, I think,” says Krasinski, who shares daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8, with Blunt. “My kids will love it, it won’t be weird at all. “

The “Quiet Place” director added that “there was a lot of joy” in sharing the news with his other half of 14 years.

“It’s the beautiful thing that when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and changing and evolving,” Krasinski said of their relationship. “And I’m lucky enough to go through all that with her.”

As for how the “Jack Ryan” star — who took over the People’s Sexiest Man title for 2023 winner Patrick Dempsey — felt about adding another title to his resume?

“Just instant blackout, really. Zero thoughts,” Krasinski admitted. “Besides maybe I get punked.” It’s not like I wake up and think, ‘Is this the day I get asked to be the sexiest man alive?’ And yet that was the day you did it. You have really raised the bar for me.”

Krasinski and Blunt tied the knot in 2010 and have been vocal about their relationship together over the years.

In 2011, Krasinski admitted on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that he “wasn’t really looking for a relationship” when he first moved to Los Angeles, but Blunt quickly changed his view.

“Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, ‘Oh my god, I think I’m going to fall in love with her,'” he shared, adding that their instant chemistry was undeniable. “It’s one of those things where you know someone as soon as you meet someone.”

Blunt shared a glimpse of her marriage to Krasinski to InStyle in 2013.

“Meeting John really changed my life,” the actress said. “When I feel the support I have from him, I feel invincible. There’s someone behind you on your good days and someone in front of you on your bad days.”

In August 2015, Krasinski told People about being Blunt’s “No. 1 fan.”

“It really is that we just got lucky,” he said of their romance. “It’s one of those things that I have more fun now than the day I met her, and it’s pretty crazy.”

“I think when you commit your life to something like that, it changes everything. All the clichés are true,” the star added.
